Baptisms 18 May 2008

It's always a joyful day when we have a baptism meeting celebration.

Our celebration on 18 May 2008 was particularly special because we had 5 others being baptised with us from 3 other churches.

Here we see all 8 being baptised with their respective pastors standing behind them

From right to left me behind Vasile, Olia and Anisoara

Ion behind Victoria from Sharapeni

Vitalic behind Elena from Andrusul de sus
Luchian behind Tamara, Tanya and Larisa from Badicu. ( our friends at Eurovangelism will be glad to see the 2 young people from Badicu getting baptised as their financial support enabled the chruch building to be finished at Badicu which meant a Karis club was able to be started and these 2 young people came through to new birth and now baptism as a result)

Anisoara gave a very moving testimony before she was baptised speaking of how she had grown up in our church in Chircani knowing the truth but taking God's love and playing in sin at the same time.

Then just a few months ago she came under strong conviction that God isn't just love and mercy but he is also holy and she felt she could not play around any longer with His patience and so she gave her life fully to Him then.

She has already been leading worship in various contexts and we see God wanting to lead her in this.

The other wonderful news is that Jora, Anisoara's husband gave his life to the Lord after the Sunday morning meeting.
Pray for this smoldering wick of a committment

His family have already thrown Anisoara out of their home resenting her faith and they will be hostile to his new found faith.

He will also go soon to Romania to work before he has had much time to get established

Vasile was also one of those who got baptised on Sunday.

I trust you remember him from an earlier blog as the man with the big fish ( and the good testimony that went with that catch )

Keep praying for him as he still suffers pretty badly from the damage he sustained to the head after being badly beaten just before he got saved
Here are two wonderful photos of families rejoicing in their relatives making the decision to be baptised.
On the left Oxana, the sister of Anisoara,. Pray for her as she is close to giving her life to Christ but has not yet made the decision.
On the right, Mari congratulates her brother in law Vasile. Note the joy in her face - a result no doubt of the answer to much travail in prayer for Vasile
Keep us in your prayers
